Global rights institutions and frameworks are as important as ever, when national governments seek to wind back rights agendas, impacting on the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in society.
Two Australian state governments have set out to incorporate human rights into a state Charter or
Bill of Rights. Just what the opportunities are for government, business and civil society to ‘front foot’ human rights agendas and the advantages of doing so are discussed in this paper.
