The existence of racial stereotypes of occupations implies an intersection between stereotypes regarding race and occupations. It is posited that racial stereotypes of occupations involve the “matching” of racial stereotypes to occupational stereotypes. Individuals compare racial and occupational stereotype profiles when making judgments such as an individuals’ suitability to perform well in certain occupations.
